Ta Da Tuesday ~ Sleepy Kitty

I am getting ready for school, filling out my FAFSA, applications, and other goodies, so my TaDas are older, but still mine!

 

This is the Sleepy Kitty that I made for my daughter. I was up until 2 am on Christmas Eve finishing her sleepy kitty eyes. Sweet Pea always takes a while to warm up to new things, and after  7 weeks of discarding it and throwing it under the bed, Sleepy Kitty fell asleep in Sweet Pea’s arms last night. Sigh.. Love it.

 

Her body and tail is made from 100% recycled wool from a thrift store sweater, arms and ears made from new wool felt. And a beautiful yellow rose ticking makes up her backside  because sometimes we need  a little coolness on our cheek. Love it.. She is a rough creation but 100% pure love. 

Music Monday 2/15 "The Script"

The lucky ones are out of school/work today! Hooray!

If you have snow today, enjoy. Our snow melted the next day, but while it lasted we had an amazing time just standing in it and touching it. Sigh

My music choice this Monday is another choice from that fabo Mix CD my sister made for me and I still have in my MP3 player.

 The Script is a yummy Irish trio with an R and B flavor that I really like. Perfect for wine and cooking music or making love music.. Mmmm  Lead singer, Danny O'Donoghue is a cutie patootie..

Very passionate lyrics and soulful beats. And I can identify with their lyrics..

I really like them a lot. These boys sweat when they perform.. Amazing.

 

The hardest part about writing my posting today was picking the song! Gosh.. too many good ones!

Music Monday 2/8

Ray LaMontagne

This musician has been in my MP3 player for a while. My sister made me a mix CD, very retro and included 2 of his songs on here. I really like his voice.. It's smooth like warm caramel.. And now I want a Starbucks. Great. :)

"Let it be Me' is a fav, followed closely by "You are the Best Thing".. Sigh.. Love me some Ray.. Check him out.. you can't pick a bad song..  His voice is perfect for a rainy evening making dinner in a slip dress with a glass of red wine in your hand and a red sauce cooking away...

Friday Covet 02/05/10

Oh my goodness I found the most amazing slippers on this very green Etsy shop, called Little Friend.

This colder weather has me looking for toddler slippers.

Most folks are only making baby slippers. My Sweet Pea is small footed and has a narrow foot. She is 4 and only wears a size 7. So finding a little slipper for her has been a chore. Did I mention she refuses to wear socks?  So chilly so cold.. Her piggers need to be covered. I am ordering these babies this week. How CUTE are they? Little Friend makes slipper for 5-6 yr olds.

Please look at this Etsy shop and drool with me. I love the creative monsters and the kitties  and toadstools are too cute. I may have to get more than one pair! So reasonably priced. Little Friend offers custom orders too. Her slippers are made from recycled wool sweaters and leather from jackets. Very green and very swank. :)

Ta-Da! Tuesday 2/2

Groundhog's Day. Whippee.

Lookee what I did. :) Iron on transfer from a kit I got for less than a buck on super-clearance. I ironed it on to a plain white tee shirt from another clearance find and she has a very "in" shirt for less than 2 bucks.

Used my own non-crappy embroidery thread and worked on it here and there. My Sweet Pea loves it. She's only 4 and has amazing taste.
